Set Music on Hold per Buyer

You can now configure Music on Hold on an individual Buyer. When a Buyer has one, the caller hears that Buyer’s hold music while that Buyer is being dialed, instead of the campaign‑level music. This is most useful when different Buyers on the same campaign want their own branded audio.

Why this matters

Different Buyers often have their own branding, and the hold audio a caller hears while a Buyer is being dialed is part of that experience.

Per‑Buyer Music on Hold lets each Buyer present its own hold audio to the callers being connected to it, all on the same campaign. Buyers that don’t set their own keep using the campaign’s music.

That gives you finer control over the caller’s wait, matched to the specific Buyer they’re about to reach, while keeping related Buyers together on one campaign.

What’s new

Music on Hold has always been available at the campaign level and you can now also set it on an individual Buyer. When a Buyer has its own Music on Hold, the caller hears it while that Buyer is being dialed. When it doesn’t, the campaign’s music plays as usual and if neither is set, the default hold audio plays. Each Buyer’s music applies only to that Buyer, so you can give one Buyer its own hold audio without changing anything for the rest of the campaign.

How to use it

Open the Buyer you want to configure.
Go to its Prompts section.
Add a Music on Hold prompt — upload or record audio, or choose a preset, exactly like the campaign‑level one.
Save. Calls dialing this Buyer will now play this hold music instead of the campaign’s.

Permissions and access

Per‑Buyer prompts are rolling out in stages. If Music on Hold isn’t available on your Buyers yet, contact Retreaver support to have it enabled for your account.
Configuring Buyer prompts follows your existing prompt permissions.
This audio is caller‑facing only. It is never played to the Buyer.

Notes and caveats

Music on Hold plays to the caller while the Buyer is being dialed, not to the Buyer.
Campaign‑level Music on Hold still works and remains the default. It applies to any Buyer that doesn’t have its own.
Nothing changes for existing calls until you add a Music on Hold prompt to a Buyer.
It applies only when a single Buyer is being dialed. On simultaneous (ring‑all) dials, the campaign’s music plays, because no single Buyer has been chosen yet.
A Buyer’s music plays in place of the campaign’s only for that Buyer, it doesn’t change the campaign default for other Buyers.
Internal Buyers: some Buyers point to another Retreaver number, so the call is routed back into Retreaver instead of out to a phone carrier. By the time it reaches that Buyer, the caller has already heard the hold music from the first campaign, so Music on Hold set on an internal Buyer won’t play again at the hand‑off.
