Revshare Conversion
What's new
Publishers now have a new conversion type: Revshare.
Instead of configuring timer seconds or tags, postback tags, or attempt criteria on the publisher side, Revshare delegates all of that to the buyer's conversion. You only set the payout — either a percentage of the revenue or a fixed dollar amount.
Why
Publisher and Buyer conversion criteria almost always mirror each other — when the buyer converts, the publisher converts.
But keeping them in sync has been entirely manual: every time a buyer tweaked their timer from 60s to 90s, or changed a postback tag, the publisher's matching rule had to be edited too. Every time your introduce a new RTB buyer you would need to copy over the seconds tag into the publisher conversion criteria - ending up with a publisher profile that has all the 20 buyers you are working with.
Drift was easy, audits were painful, and a missed update could mean paying a publisher on a call the buyer never paid for (or vice versa).
Revshare removes the duplication. You only need to adjust what the Publisher is going to be payed - everything else just works.
How to use it
On a publisher conversion group, pick Revshare from the conversion type dropdown.
You'll see a single field:
- Payout → the amount the publisher earns when the buyer converts. Defaults to a percentage of revenue (e.g. 70% of whatever the buyer paid), but you can switch to a fixed dollar amount.
That's it. There are no timer, revenue, tag, or modifier fields — those are all taken from whichever buyer conversion fires on the call.
When saved you should have something like this
How conversions get matched
- Buyer uses a timer → publisher converts at the same second threshold.
- Buyer uses a postback → publisher converts when the postback arrives, with the payout calculated against the posted revenue (this is where % of revenue shines).
- Buyer uses an attempt-based conversion → publisher converts on the same attempt.
If the buyer doesn't convert, the publisher doesn't convert either.
